It's not in the tracklist, is it among the three tracks that will be released in the course of 2010? Or is it part of a larger track? _________________ Nitimur in vetitum semper cupimusque negata |

It will be interesting to see. I recall Tom confirming here on the board, some time ago, that it was a variation on "Totengott." It was recorded quite awhile ago and probably wasn't one of the 12 songs for the Eparistera Daimones sessions. (I read the press release to say that 12 were recorded this year.)
I also wonder -- was V. involved in it's composition or recording?
So, I guess that we shall see. _________________ I am Lazarus, risen from my tomb.

Thought Tom mentioned this track just acting as a place saver? |

The "place holder" description was not intended to make the song seem irrelevant.
I wrote it while I was still in Celtic Frost, as a legitimate contribution to a new album. It was part of a cycle of songs from which "Totengott", too, was taken. I originally intended to submit "Crucifixus" for the album to succeed "Monotheist". When I subsequently formed Triptykon, it was simply the first song to be complete, and it was thus used on MySpace as a place holder until we would finish the rest of the album.
"Crucifixus" is very much part of the "Eparistera Daimones" sessions, and it now exists in a slightly remixed and newly mastered version. We also intend to use it to open our concerts.

Huh. I had the impression that "Totengott" was a product of the moment, that inspiration had come while in the studio and that the song was an unplanned addition to Monotheist. It is interesting to hear that each are part of a cycle. A triptych, perhaps?
Suggesting that "Triptych" on Monotheist is perhaps a work of nine and not three?
Part 1: "Totengott", "Crucifixus", Unknown song.
Part 2: two unknown songs and "Synagoga Satanae."
Part 3: "Rex Irae," uknown song, and "Winter."
Spanning albums and time? Frankly, this is an idea that I have been intrigued by for awhile.
EDIT: This is where I am coming from. The first public mention of "Totengott"? It's recording. A suggestion that "Totengott" was not part of the original plan for "Monotheist." _________________ I am Lazarus, risen from my tomb.

Isn't that cycle of songs the supposed solo album of Tom? I can remember that Tom has skipped his solo album because some of that material ended up on 'Eparistera Daimones'. _________________ Nitimur in vetitum semper cupimusque negata |
