I was checking out this new cd from Swedish band Firespawn (which has members of Entombed, Necrophobic, Unleashed, Dark Funeral etc.) when I noticed something. I could be wrong again, but the dude on this cd cover looks familiar...

good band but not great . Too Morbid Angel vibes for my taste.
It's been a while since I 've seen an awful artwork like this .
terrible cover . _________________ Please , let me die in Solitude ... |

Nice catch.
Some of those images from the early and mid '80's are so foundational that I guessing that there has been a lot unintentional and unconscious copying over the years. _________________ I am Lazarus, risen from my tomb.

what's with all the hatred on this forum when a band is influenced by HH or CF?
I keep seeing people literally bashing bands for trying to sound like HH/CF, now the same with the covers...
If anything, these newer bands might influence future generations, or introduce kids to HH/CF. It's not like they are claiming to have invented this anyways and they certainly have great musical taste, more power to them.
Tom and Martin themselves have been influenced by other artists and tried to emulate those in one way or another. |
