Almost done with Michael Harner's "Cave and Cosmos" and going back to re-read his first book "The Way of the Shaman."

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Was in my youngest's (only "child" left at home) Loot Crate for March of last year I believe it was, and found it to be excellent. Started it on a last second grab whatever was closest run to the toilet, and 3 hrs later found myself still turning pages.

A great read for anime/fantasy/sci-fi/gamer/otaku/geek interest aficionados. Guess Spielberg is making a film out of it currently.
Anyway, recommended if your into any of the above topics.

I forgot all about this topic. Four that I've read in the last year stand out:

The True Story of Hansen and Gretel, by Louise Murphy. Two Jewish siblings trying to survive in rural Poland in 1944-45.

City of Thieves, by David Benioff. Two young men are tasked by an NKVD officer with obtaining a carton of eggs during the siege of Leningrad.

The Orchard Keeper. The most opaque book by Cormac McCarthy that I have read.

The Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt. Part Paul Auster, part Catcher in the Rye, part international thriller. Definitely the most ambitious of the three novels that she has written so far.

Auster is one of my favorite authors. I pretty much binged six or eight of his books a decade ago. Favorites are In the Country of Last Things, The New York Trilogy, Leviathan, and The Book of Illusions.

I haven't picked up his latest, yet.
