That's quite a lineup.

I didn't know that WITTR are still playing out. What all did they play?

And, how was Memoriam? The record hasn't clicked with me -- too much polyrhythm chuggery for my taste.

I don't like it that much, either. The album's been getting rave reviews in some circles, but they're not hearing what I'm hearing. Give me Immolation or Blood Incantation any day!

I was looking forward to see and hear MEMORIAM playing but ultimately was left dissapointed. It didn't help that the sound in the first half of the set wasn't up to par and i couldn't help thinking of how awesome it would be if BOLT THROWER was still around and playing instead. I will give them another chance when they play in a smaller venue.

DÄLEK on the other hand took me by surprise and laid down some heavy industrial influenced rap. I can really recommend to go and watch them. CHELSEA WOLFE enchanted a packed, and i mean packed, 013 venue. The capacity of this main stage venue was recently increased to 3000 people and each and every one of those places was occupied.

The two absolute highlights were BIG BUSSINESS and WHORES. BIG BUSSINESS consisting of only a drummer and bassplayer/singer impressed by producing a sound that isn't short of a full sized band. WHORES, as always, radiate a gigantic dose of energy that easily transfers to the audience. I had a great time with them.

Few songs played by WITR:

Dea Artio
Vastness and Sorrow
Prayer of Transformation
I Will Lay Down My Bones Among the Rocks and Roots

I think WITTR are coming by me sometime soon. I might stop by and get back into concert photography through it, but we shall see.

Which will ultimately be this band's fate, I think. I only ever saw BT once, but they were fantastic.

Worth the price of admission right there, I think.

Whores are from Atlanta. As dumb as this is, I've never seen them play.

Monolord / Skraeckoedlan / TANK86 / Prosperina / Cegvera - The Exchange, Bristol, England (21 May 2017)

I missed the first three bands, but I only went to this to see Monolord anyway. Skraeckoedlan were entertaining doom metal, but they jammed a bit too much for my tastes. Monolord are psych doom metal of the highest order and they played amazingly tonight. I'm sure Tony Iommi is wondering where those missing riffs disappeared to, but I can assure him that Monolord are treating them with respect. Their vocalist was using a creepy Ozzy style vocal effect that genuinely gave me goosebumps in places. Brilliant stuff!

Electric Wizard / Angel Witch / Riddles - Bristol Bierkeller, England (17 August 2017)

Riddles were really good psychedelic rock; it's a shame they don't seem to have any records out. I was a bit disappointed by Angel Witch; They played well, but really workmanlike. Kevin kept looking down at his guitar and the vocals would disappear! That wasn't making me very happy. Electric Wizard were crushing and apocalyptic! Totally amazing band.

Next gig - Windhand at the Exchange! WINDHAND AT THE BLOODY EXCHANGE IN BRISTOL!!!!!!! I will die happy!
