Does anyone out there have these recordings? I want to complete my Celtic Frost collection.

I guess that if somebody has these recordings, that we can cut a deal! I have some very interesting recordings of CF laying around!

I just discovered something called FilesTube.com. It searches places like Rapidshare and MegaUpload. There is a lot of Frost there -- I don't know if these demos are included.

Well, after fruitless attempts to get this demo, I am giving up until the new year, then I start looking again Wink I am too busy with my Demis Roussos act. Last night I had to try on the wig and the beard, and I looked more like Jesus than Demis Roussos. Now I have to take care they don't crucify me.

So Elohim,
the new year has arrived.
Any news about your search for the Vanity/Nemesis demo?
I'm searching too.
Let's see what happens, maybe Mr Thomas Gabriel Fischer could make a gift for the new year to His devoted fans in this place...... Embarassed ....who knows?

Should we bow down and pray Tom?
Mr Fischer, the Warrior, if you are around here, listen to us: we are (desperately) searching for the 'Vanity/Nemesis' sessions and also the 'Dark matter manifest' demo....maybe if you dig in your (un)holy vaults you could find them.
Embarassed
What can we offer apart from our total endless devotion since decades?
I can send some good wine from Italy........wine in your hands? (Third from the sun).
With respect,
Claudio

You cannot get this from Tom, I can already tell you that. We just have to hope there is a trader out there who wants to trade...

Oh shit, i must admit i'm quite curious about that.
If it's not a thing that must be kept between you and Tom, may i know why 'i cannot get this from Tom'?
Obviously he has no time to dub tapes to people but is it a matter of principles? or he thinks that demos or sessions are worthless things? or maybe because these are things that makes he think to an unpleasant past period he wants to forget?.
I have to suppose Tom knows we don't want this stuff for free: we can/want to pay these things like we buy a normal demotape.
It's an offense to the artist? or a great appreciation of his work? Very Happy

No, he just doesn't respond to such requests. He never did, so I don't see why he would change now. And an artist looks differently to his work than we do. It's a demo, which means 'no finished product'. The reason why I am collecting rare CF recordings, is mainly to reconstruct how they work. You can hear the snippets of ideas coming back into the songs that actually make it to the album. 'Prototype' is also a bunch of ideas from which sometimes one makes it to the final product. 'Obscured'is such an example. The lyrics to 'Drown in Ashes' are such an example (on the demo the song was called 'The Dying I'). If I recollect correctly, one riff of Prototype has made it to Eparistera Daimones or the EP that will follow. But an artist sees demo material as something for himself, as a work in progress, and you don't want your boss coming to you when you have your work half done and let it be judged as if you were done, would you?

Elohim,
you're absolutely right.
If Tom does not deal with His demos, it's his right, he's the author, the owner, the artist and we cannot do anything but respect his decisions.

I agree that a demo is something 'unfinished' for an artist, and maybe more to such a perfectionist artist as Tom is.
But i would like that Tom would consider His fans differently like 'the boss who watches your unfinished work and judges you on that basis'.
We are more like His sons, who look at Him with respect like a father.
We love his works even if uncompleted: as you said we like to reconstruct the ideas developing in an artist's mind.
It would be my last thing in my mind to permit to myself to judge a band (moreover a Tom's band) through a demo.
It's not like 'the first demo of a new band' spread to the labels around who judge if this is worth a contract or not.
Do you think that if anybody in the world should find anywhere an unfinished painting of Picasso, he would be judged differently?
Tom now is in the Gotha of the artists: and we know how complex and structured are his works through time and bands changes: like the thousand faces of a diamond.
Each one different from all the others, each one precious as the others, each one important as the others, because only if all the faces are kept together they can shine like only a diamond shines.
Respect!

I don't have much to say about the topic at hand, other than that line...

well...
yeah...
umm....

I mean...

I have a father. I look at my father and Tom in completely dissimilar ways.

I am the son of someone else. I don't feel like his son.

Carry on.
