Hi, anyone's got an idea, who was the first band in metal, that used pseudonymes on intruments, like "hellish crossfire on wooden coffins" for drums or "V-axe holocaust" for guitar?
Musicians always used pseudonymes for themselves, that's not the topic, but was Hellhammer the first metal band to use pseudonymes for their instruments?

Lucille...

John Christ had 'the Bitch', but that's an odd one, since it was a Rich Bich.

Never heard about that. Is that a band called "Lucille"? Is that metal? Which year was that?
By the way, that's (bitch) a good name for a guitar.

Read here. The answer is 1949.

The first one I recall seeing is Raven's All For One, although I don't have the vinyl in front of me. I might be wrong. But I recall it being quite a fad, back in the early '80's, even.

Venoms 'Welcome to Hell' from 1981 is about the earliest I can find in the metal world anyway.

Laughing No worries, chief. It's just an internet forum.

Curiously, I often find friends yelling, "clam chooooowwwwwdaaaaaaa!" after I say something, so I can identify.
