I can't believe it's almost 20 years since his last cover. I can't even imagine all the requests he probably fielded and refused over that time.

And THANK YOU for not making this a Travis Smith work. This package is definitely exceeding expectations by a HUGE margin.

Ok, that's just f**king sweet; it's everything I could have hoped for on the visual-presentation side of things. It's even one of my favourite Giger paintings, too.

Fucking A. When do pre-orders start? I'll take one copy on vinyl and one CD, please.

HOOOLY cow but I am SO blown away, enamored and floored...how incredibly cool. That Giger shared his art with Tom, FOR Tom. I guess I'm not surprised- those two are definitely soul brothers so it only makes sense. I would imagine that Giger and Tom are both feeling humbled and honored. I'm so happy for them both- and for myself too- I can't WAIT until I have possession of that album- which I want in that big deluxe pack that Tom talked about, with vinyl and everything signed! Of course the first thing I'll do is whip out the vinyl and play it on my record player while I look at the artwork, just like I used to do in the old days... YIPEE! Twisted Evil

It really is an interesting choice, which, I think, raises some complex questions.

On the one hand, it an obvious choice, as Giger and Warrior have a close relationship, at least on an artistic level and, I'm assuming, on a personal level, as well.

On the other hand, it is a very surprising choice. I simply cannot ignore the echoes of To Mega Therion, because that album cover it so iconic. And I have to believe that the choice was very considered and intentional. But it does raise the question of repeating something that has already been done.

But on the third hand, how can an artist not repeat himself, at least in some small degree. It is still the same person, not matter how he or she has grown. Somehow.

You can see how I quickly talk myself into circles.

...

And if the choice of using Giger was considered and intentional, is there also some stronger link between EP and TMT that will be revealed?

Where are the nay-sayers who said that there wouldn't be Giger on the front cover because that has already been done? Giger AND Castiglia... And it looks awesome. This is how I remember Giger, and this is one Hell of a way to present Triptykon to the world. I got this piece somewhere in my Giger collection, so with the album and lyrics out, there will be enough for me to dig in...

Great, absolutely great! I have to have it on vinyl too and sit on my couch and listen to it and lay my eyes on the artwork and on and on... \m/

Thank you Tom, for this amazing package!

Hah, I was wrong, I never expected to see H.R. Giger's work on the cover of Tom's album again hehehe... I'm totally positively disappointed, if such a retoric figure exists in english language Wink
