It's from a secret Celtic Frost funk album.

In fact, to me it seems identical to the original but compressed beyond comprehension (and sense). The scream at the very beginning seems altered, but it doesn't even seem to sound like me. The rest of the vocals (phrasing, length etc.) and the lead guitar seem absoltely identical, apart from the radically diminished sound quality.

Just my opinion.

It is the slap and pop that is throwing everyone off.

Just compared it to the one I've been listening to since God was a puppy and...yeah, the sound quality on this "mystery" recording is like a fifth generation photocopy. Muddled and slightly distorted/crooked on the page.

Oddly enough, one might mistake it for an early victim of the Loudness Wars - clearly a Madchester moment . . . .

Nevertheless, I prefer this version of the song. Might be the reason when you have heard something nearly to death and you get some new infusion with slightly altered stuff.

Thanks for the MP3. So I can put my Sampler 7" now also to rest. Listened to it some dozens of times in the past weeks.

Seems to be an early example for the upcoming loudness war...same as with the tracks on the TRAGIC SERENADES 12"...too much compression...
But Tom: if it is not your voice on the beginning part, who could it be ??? Maybe a possessed Horst Müller whilst remixing the song or a mysterious guy of the NOISE staff ??? Wink

Just realized: it's the secret funk mix which was immediately withdrawn.
