The CD purchase thread doesn't really seem relevant, anymore, as I doubt many people are buying CD's. I know that I have pretty much stopped, because I subscribe to a streaming service. (I know, I know.) The only physical format that I'm buying these days is vinyl. So, I thought we'd have a separate thread for what we purchased, where the other thread can be for where to purchase.

Or maybe I just like seeing my name pop up a lot.

Anyway, I *finally* picked up this record from 2006. I bought on CD back then, but have decided that I wanted it on vinyl. I'm not sure if you guys have heard of it, but it is called Monotheist, by this obscure band called Celtic Frost?

Indeed the CD thread should be expanded to records in general, if such thread is needed. Here's what I've purchased lately.

Vinyl
Igor Wakhevitch: Logos (reissue)
Igor Wakhevitch: Doctoeur Faust (reissue)
Igor Wakhevitch:: Hathor (reissue)
Jex Thoth: Blood Moon Rise
Dark Buddha Rising: Dakhmandal
Eibon: II

CD
Pandemonium (Pol): The Ancient Catatonia (reissue)
Lurk: Lurk
Funeralium: Deceived Idealism

iTunes
Watain: The Wild Hunt
Pandemonium (Pol): Misantrophy
Hobb's Angel of Death: Hobb's Angel of Death
Hobb's Angel of Death: Hobbs' Satan's Crucade
Candlemass: Psalms for the Dead

Note to self:

*must* buy record player. Then buy all kinds of coloured vinyl to impress the cool metal girls, & most importantly... Satan.

Good lord -- I have purchased a ton of records since I started this thread. I forgot all about it.

Didn't you already have a Yellow Goat, or am I mistaken?

I covet your yellow goat. They are outrageously expensive, now.

Hey! Congratulations.

One of the dumber things in life is that I don't actually own Morbid Tales on vinyl. A friend bought the Noise combined CD (Morbid Tales and Emperor's Return) for me back in the day and that is what I have always listened to. I need to remedy that, some day.

I have to admit, I am a little shocked: there is a copy of Eparistera Daimones -- The Complete Sessions on Discogs right now for 550/US$600. That's insane.

I still buy CDs if they're cheap.

I finally bit the proverbial bullet and bought (used) CD copies of Metallica's Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets after years and years of thinking that Metallica were shit because all I ever heard was the fucking 'Black Album' and other later material.

They're older CDs (1989 releases) so they're not incredibly heavily compressed in order to make them 'louder' and it definitely makes a noticeable difference to the quality and I had to actually turn my hi-fi up a bit when listening to them.

Crazy, man.
