I can't be the only Paradise Lost fanboy here. Did anyone else rush out to buy their new album (or listen to an upload on youtube)?

I've given it 1 1/2 spins so far and I'm digging it, especially the 'nastier' moments: It seems that Nick Holmes' 'other job' in Bloodbath has given him a taste for death grunts again and Greg Mackintosh has clearly been at the ol' black metal.

Here's a couple of tracks officially uploaded to give you a taste:

'Beneath Broken Earth' video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55XlIPzY5q0

I have it. It's the first PL album that I have bought since "Symbol of Life" and to my taste it is also the best PL release since "Symbol...". The true return of Nick's extreme vocals is probably the main reason why I like it so much.

I don't know this band at all, although I did catch Bloodbath the other weekend.

Any suggestions for songs that are highlights?

Great album
never been an avid fan of the band. It 's the discovery of Vallenfyre then Bloodbath who have given me want to listen to. Greg Mackintosh is a riff-master.

It's definitely a grower. I've thoroughly enjoyed their last couple of albums as well, but this one takes a noticeable leap ahead in terms of quality: Their revisiting of a much earlier death metal influenced sound blends perfectly with other classic PL sonic trademarks harking back to various moments in their comprehensive back catalogue as well as brand new stylistic elements without any of the 'retro throwback' tactics or excessive 'psuedo-progressive' technicality of many lesser contemporary bands.

Gregor Mackintosh and Nick Holmes are perhaps one of my favorite songwriting teams of all time. Greg's riffs are amazing and Nick's voice is so versatile, I love it. I'm super stoked for their new album! ^.^* TPW was a great one
