I note the subtle detail of the similarity of the frame around the cover of To Mega Therion with the Eparistera Daimones cd cover.
Good HR Giger artwork relation.

It's probable this frame around the cover of TMT was the original Tom and Martin idea in 1985, since one of the Giger conditions to the use of the painting for the CF cover was not to print no logo over it.

I'm sure Giger would be (or who knows he is) proud of this last edition.

The layout and designs of all the releases are brilliant. Excellent job!

yes , this search of respect of Giger Artwork could leads to have no word on it .
In any case , I agree , those covers are classy .

HELLHAMER send the request to HR Giger in 1984.

"To Mega Therion - An Album By Hellhammer"

Well remembered Ramon. Tom have sent the request letters to Giger still in Hellhammer days, so in 1984 and the discussion about the frame already was there.
Really cool Tom has found the originals letters after a long time...

I'd still love to read the original liner notes.

I agree. Not only would I like to read Tom's original liner notes, but I'd also be interested in reading Steve Bunyan's (BMG) part of the email correspondence with Tom.

I think this whole BMG/ Noise debacle is a fuckin' disgrace and totally disrespectful to Tom and the bands legacy. But they don't give a shit. They'll do what they want to make a $.

I'm glad to know that Tom now has full control over his work as an artist, but look at all the bullshit he's had to deal with over the years just to get to the point where he is today. I can't imagine how it must feel to have someone else having ownership and making decisions on what amounts to a great part of your life's work, which is exactly what's been happening basically since day one. As Tom alluded to in his recent blog posts, this kind of record company bullshit with regards to labels signing bands to nefarious record deals was par for the course. I think for most bands and musicians it wasn't a question of if you were going to get fucked, it was a question of how bad.

Sure the fans deserve better, but more importantly, so does Tom and the legacy of CF!

Sad situation that spoils a moment that should have been festive for fans.
But , despite the price clearly and shamefully excessive, the first 3 vinyl albums will be at my house one day or the other.

Thinking about this feud , If BMG want to make money first and foremost, the height of cynicism would be to publish now the album's with Tom's original notes.
Given that CF fans are fully listening to the dispute between Tom and others, no doubt that profit could rise.
But, again, these people are too locked in their offices, their ideas, their selfishness and their thirst for money to understand.
Times have changed . Always amazing to see the famous "Absolutely no thanks .Pure Hate to:" paragraph of Apocalyptic Raids be printed actually without any problem while today this seems much more problematic on the legal level especially.
All this remains too far from the main one: the so important musical heritage of Celtic Frost.

What is left for me is to document these occurrences in my writing for the metal media, on my blog (including the contents of this very mail), and in my forthcoming book on the history of Celtic Frost. For this is now part of that group's history.

Now, that's what I wanted to hear. Maybe, there'll be a new chapter concerning t6his very debacle?

+1. Even though I believe that I know most of the history following MT, I'll buy that book any old day.
