...in mp3 format for a limited time only (7 days) via:

http://download.yousendit.com/78E2052176109D4D

The first 5 songs have been removed, as they are umpteenth generations of officially released material on the remastered versions of "Morbid Tales" and "To Mega Therion". Only the rehearsal and live tracks are included.

This is for all on the board who want the opportunity to listen to the tracks being discussed here:

http://www.recordfinder.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=573

This is offered as a courtesy and to help encourage everyone to not purchase this bootleg.

Enjoy.

"system is currently busy", hehe... so some more are downloading it right ow. However I guess it is the CD-recording ? Oh well, they are really bad compared to the rehearsal tape copy I have where three songs were taken for this bootleg CD.

Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Yeah, it is from a CD-R copy of the "Demos 84 & 85" release that I received in a trade. I'm betting your tape sounds better.

Best regards,

Zane

Thanks Zane. I assume the S.D. songs were from the recent tour? Thanks for sharing these. Although I would likely never purchase bootleg of this material it's great to hear the songs in rough format. Takes me back to the days of rehearsal 7 days a week in my first hardcore band.

Cheers,
Sean

Ahhh... I'll have to listen to them then. I was not thinking they would be from that tour. This tour was the first chance to see them live...

Voivod made a huge impression opening.

I was disappointed Martin was not present.

Thanks again Zane.

Hi Sean.

You mean on the "Tragic Serenades" tour in '85/'86? Martin was definitely on that tour. It was only during the "To Mega Therion" recording sessions where he wasn't with the band.

Best regards,

Zane

So your telling me the that the recordings here include Martin?

The show I was mentioning was at the Palo Alto, Stone. Not 100% sure what the name of the tour was. Voivod was one of the opening acts. As mentioned Martin not being onstage was a bummer.

So was it Dominic Steiner that was on stage in Palo Alto?

Martin was most definitly on the entire Tragic Serenades tour with Voivod circa 1985-86 as Zane mentioned.

Cool, thanks for the confirmation. But who was it on the stage when he wasn't?

So kzr750r1, the show you would have seen would have been this, correct?

Date: June 10, 1986
Location: Palo Alto, California, U.S.A.
Venue: Keystone
Openers: Running Wild
Special Guests: Vo´vod
Set List: Unknown

And you are stating that someone other than Martin Ain was playing bass on stage? Confused

At this time, CF was already one of my favorite bands, Voivod was just beginning to make a major impact on me with RrroooaaarrR. I have many friends that were at the Seattle show on June 6th* and Martin was definitly on stage during that show. I also have video of CF's show from San Diego on June 15th in which Martin is most certainly present (and headbanging wildly) throughout.

You were there, so I won't refute your claim. But, unless Martin came down with the flu and was temporarily replaced (and this was somehow never reported), you likely did see Martin Ain with Celtic Frost. Smile

*At 15 years old, I had some dumb school camping trip which caused me to miss this gig, for which I will never forgive myself for going on. Celtic Frost and Voivod left a major impact on the metal community here in Seattle at the time.

Martin was with us for that show. I even have live photos of that concert showing both him and me onstage together.

In fact, the band never played any shows without Martin except for the relatively brief "Cold Lake" tour. I envy him for not having been a part of that.
