Excellent! A great sliver of CF history.

Who is the drummer in the rehearsal tracks?

XD, yes, I believe this was the show. Will have to go through my ticket stub collection and confirm.

I can't refute a thing from memory as this was more than 20 years ago... Man I'm feeling old as I was around 21, about to have my 22nd birthday 16 days from the show.

Still have the shirt with the Purple Wings in front and Morbid Tales Heptagram on back. Loved wearing it to JC art class and freaking out the class mates. Needless to say they kept their distance. It's a little thin these days and was retired more than a decade ago. The wife will never understand why I keep these things. From my perspective it's a part of my history...

Just thought the dude on bass had nothing in common with Martin.

Tom, thanks for the confirmation. Not to press but could you post some pics of this show for posterity sake? I understand your a busy man.

Voivod kicked ass as an opening act. Don't remember much about Running Wild.

I saw that show in CT, Running Wild was already off the tour at that point, so it was just VoiVod and a local opening. We met Tom, Martin and Reed after the show, who were all very gracious and cool to hang out with... They signed my sleeveless shirt they were selling on that tour, I'll have to dig that up sometime.

True story - We all brought CF vinyl for them to sign, I still treasure the T.Serenades pic disk Tom signed for me. Well anyway, my friend hands Tom the Apocalyptic Raids 12", and Tom groans, and said "Hell-SHIT-Hammer..." but still signed it. We all went on and on about how we loved it, but Tom was more intent with saying it wasn't reflective of the current direction, and generally seemed embarrassed of it but was still a good sport about it all.

Believe me, we're ALL very grateful that hindsight is 20/20! I wonder what the turning point was for Tom, between disavowing the HELLHAMMER material to accepting and even embracing its importance?

It was truly one of the greatest nights of my life.

PS Sorry this got a little off-topic, it got onto the Tragic Serenades tour and moved on from there.

Off Topic Paulie?

Well looked at my ticket stub pile/file and this is a missing stub so the only item I have is the shirt.

Probably have the wife burn it with me after passing, along with my bike. Wink

Pics from this tour from anyone would be awesome. Next time around I'm making sure to have the time, chill after the show. There are so many good stories of the band past and present meeting fans after the show.

Still hope for another time around the world gents.

Cheers,
Sean

Martin was with us for that show. I even have live photos of that concert showing both him and me onstage together.

In fact, the band never played any shows without Martin except for the relatively brief "Cold Lake" tour. I envy him for not having been a part of that.

Tom Gabriel Fischer, Toten, Norway

Tom, "Cold Lake" isn't that bad, it has couple of good tunes there.. It has moments...
