As far as Hellhammer worship goes, I never much cared for Warhammer, although I fully understood their (his) devotion to carrying the torch, so to speak. I much more preferred Brazil's Apokalyptic Raids. They obviously went to great pains to replicate the old guitar sound. Good stuff!

Yes, all of the early WARHAMMER stuff got re-released by now, except for the debut, which got bootlegged by a Chilenian label 1 or 2 years ago, though.

Just found this CD:

Skincrawler - Lair Of The Foul CD

Great CD, cool Hellhammer-feeling and the vocals sound like a the ones of the Dream Death guy during their demo days. Overall highly enjoyable.

I enjoy "Demons Of The Dark" most.

As a cross post, an update to this thread is available here:

link, with an inclusion from a review done by Tom for Terrorizer on the first four Warhammer albums.

I read the review by Tom, but it was such a small piece of text that I didn't consider to buy the magazine. The review however was eloquent.

I know, thread necromancy and my first post even - but I didn't think this was worth its own thread really. I was listening to Apokalyptic Raids tonight, and they have a song called "Nothing Will Happen". At around the 3:15 mark it turns into an unlisted cover of "Crucifixion" - a nice surprise!

Don't worry about the necromancy: I think we'd all like to keep topics in the relative thread.

I guess it's just that, on this board, the topic might become a bit wider than the OP sometimes intends. Laughing

I'm going to name my new band "Tackhammer".

I'm going to be so grim that our audiences will wish they were dead*

*anyone want to teach me how to play a guitar and turn an amp up to 11?

You're right. I'm going to reinvent myself as Sunjay GRIM and I'm going to be so shocking, that I will use British English to print my extremely GRIM lyrics about such things as looking forward to the weekend, making it through the week, partyingpartyingpartying with my friends, trying to figure out if I should take the school bus or go with my friends in their convertible.

Already sounds GRIM, right?

Frank "Necros II" Krynojewski appeared on earth again. He wrote a small but fascinating message about the Rock Hard festival in the German Rock Hard magazine about the Triptykon gig. Nice to see this guy is still up and running.
