If you thought WARHAMMER were taking the whole 'homage' thing a little too far, then you clearly haven't seen these guys.

You've got to marvel at them, you really do. It's just a shame they haven't really managed to match the brutal finesse of CF's early days (unlike Holland's DELIRIUM who do a rather good job at being a CF tribute act).

The Delirium lp is great!

I think Nordic Mist is a pure "tribute" band and not even that serious.

Yeah seen that at Hell's Headbangers.

Only Celtic Frost can do Celtic Frost, others are just imitators and Frost CANNOT be imitated. Probably just another joke band .

Funny that you mention Delirium. When Mark Honout left that band they got a replacement... ME! Although I lasted for only three months due to a job that I finally found which had me working in shifts, and Delirium rehearsed midweeks in Berkhout, later in Bovenkarspel in the studio of drummer Han.

After I left, Delirium kind of incarnated four or five times. Sometimes I regret my decision to leave Delirium, I wonder what could have happened... The new material actually kicked ass!

Well I'll be jiggered... twice!

First about you being involved with Delirium, Elohim. That's awesome.

Now, I am a huge fan of Morbid Tales, but I think Nordic Mist is going too far. The guitar sound is pretty well spot on, but what bothers me is the vocals, to be honest. The phrasing, the "hey!", the "ugh!" is just a little too much.

Delirium is ace. I like that Zooouhh so much...absolutely ace.

Strange to read the story with Han/Wendy to be honest...but sounds very similar to the owner of German label Ars Metalli.

Staying at bands that sounded like frost, check these two out:
Hellbastard on their "Heading For Internal Darkness" LP, and Inner Sanctum from Uruguay.

Thanx for the link anyway...but this is totally LAME!! Absolutely UNHEAVY and no vision whatsoever! What people don't realize, that Frank-Krynojewski-era-WARHAMMER actually absorbed (!) HELLHAMMER and knew about the necessities concerning the overall sound and music. It's more than often, that I'm reading about "HELLHAMMER-influenced" bands who share nothing but merely primitive riffing, lacking any REAL heaviness or dark atmosphere... Talking about NORDIC MIST (and the CF "influence"), this is nothing but a VERY poor rip-off of riffs and trademarks of the mighty FROST! I'm actually sick to Death of bands copying any "Uhs" or "Heys" as well as typical FROST riffing like e. g. the very obvious "The Usurper" drum pattern and go like"Yeah, cool, FROST, dude!". It's lame nowadays! When SAMAEL and DARKTHRONE (most notably on "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" and "Panzerfaust") did it back in the early 90s, that was surely against and off the current "Zeitgeist" and worked wonders, but nowadays it just feels...constructed!

The vocals do make me chuckle. It really does sound more of a parody than a tribute.

There's a bit in 'The Conquest of the Undead King' (great title) when he gets to the refrain and sings:

#The Conquest of the Undead King... The Conquest of ugh urg blerk (choking noises)#

Just listen to it. It cracks me up.

It's like a characature, isn't it?

Like a big, hairy female impersonator...

You get what they're trying to do, but...
