December 22, 2007 - THE OFFICIAL HELLHAMMER WEBSITE LAUNCHED

In conjunction with the upcoming release of "Demon Entrails", the first official release of the legendary Hellhammer demos "Death Fiend"/"Triumph of Death" and "Satanic Rites" since the original limited cassette editions in 1983, the Official Hellhammer Website has now been launched at:

www.hellhammer.org

The Hellhammer website was developed by Zane Reed Johnson and Mike Coady, both close friends of Celtic Frost and members of the band's accomplished team of webmasters, with close assistance by guitarist/vocalist/founder Tom Gabriel Fischer and bassist Martin Eric Ain. It has been dubbed the "Official Hellhammer Burial Site." Along with www.celticfrost.com and www.myspace.com/hellhammerband, hellhammer.org will be the place for official Hellhammer-related news or release information.

In the coming weeks, there will also be a microsite launched at the website of www.demonentrails.com, which will contain exclusive information on "Demon Entrails" along with information on how to preorder it.

November 12, 2007 - "DEMON ENTRAILS" - THE FIRST AND ONLY OFFICIAL RELEASE OF THE ORIGINAL HELLHAMMER DEMOS OF 1983

From the forthcoming book, "Only Death is Real - An Illustrated History of Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost", by Tom Gabriel Fischer:

"Hellhammer was much maligned, both during its existence and for years afterwards. It was maligned not only by much of the press and most of the metal audience, but also by me and several other former band members. It was, for a long time, difficult for most of us to come to terms with Hellhammer's often chaotic and radically varied legacy. Moreover, it was frequently very challenging to come to terms with how others interpreted Hellhammer and how they referred to and expanded upon what we had once created.

It took years for the accumulated unease to subside. It took years to disassociate ourselves from the perceived stigma, and to be able to properly evaluate Hellhammer within our own, very personal context. What many others knew long before me took quite a while for me to identify: that it was perfectly fair and overdue that we looked at Hellhammer realistically and in a manner sufficiently dignified to do justice to the work of a number of very unique people who shared the same vision at a very unique point in time."

'Demon Entrails' coverThere exist countless Hellhammer demo bootlegs, but they all utterly fail to capture the true aura, to represent the band as it actually was. They have been compiled from dismal multi-generation copies of the original tapes, and they are invariably riddled with factual and historical errors or outright lies. Former Hellhammer members Tom Gabriel Fischer, Martin Eric Ain, and Steve Warrior have decided to rectify this situation once and for all. "Demon Entrails" is the first official release of the legendary Hellhammer demos "Death Fiend"/"Triumph of Death" and "Satanic Rites" since the original limited cassette editions in 1983.

This release has been specially re-mastered from copies of the original master tapes under the supervision of Tom Gabriel Fischer, and the demos now represent Hellhammer exactly as the band sounded when recording these songs in June and December of 1983. Drawing from a wealth of previously unknown historical material and artwork as well as hundreds of unreleased Hellhammer photos from 1982 to 1984, "Demon Entrails" will also feature all lyrics and essays detailing the individual demo recording sessions.

"Demon Entrails" will be released as an opulent oversized double CD and as a gatefold triple vinyl album. Both versions will feature a lavish booklet and a poster. There will also be a third, bare-bones low-price CD version, designed to cater to markets which will not carry the standard CD due to its irregular size.

The release is scheduled for February 2008, through Prowling Death Records/Century Media.

October 26, 2007 - CELTIC FROST CONFIRMED AS HEADLINER FOR ROADBURN 2008

Roadburn Press Release:

"Swiss avant garde/metal pioneers Celtic Frost have been confirmed as the main headliner of the 13th annual Roadburn Festival, which will take place April 18-19, 2008, at the 013 Club in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Although Celtic Frost are recognized as a pivotal influence on both the extreme metal and gothic metal genres, Roadburn also considers Celtic Frost a seminal influence on the current stoner, doom and psychedelic scene.

Indeed, we feel Celtic Frost merits notice alongside such established pioneers as Hawkwind and Black Sabbath.

In celebration of this lesser-acknowledged side to the metal giants, Celtic Frost will perform a special one-off show at Roadburn, comprised of a repertoire which will be slightly different from the tour repertoire played in 2006 and 2007. They will be playing on Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Tom Gabriel Fischer: 'We are very proud to have been invited to headline Roadburn. Much like Celtic Frost, Roadburn follows an artistic path which deviates slightly from the norm. We all think that Roadburn and Celtic Frost is a perfect combination, and we are looking forward very much to our concert there.' "

August 7, 2007 - NEWS RELEASE

We were very proud and truly delighted to be invited to play our first headline concerts in Mexico this summer. As we stated many times, playing in Mexico was a long-held desire of ours. And almost everywhere we performed on this globe in the course of the "Monotheist" tour, there would be Mexican Celtic Frost fans who asked us when the band would finally come to their country.

It is with infinite regret, then, that we have to announce that we are forced to postpone the two Mexican concerts to a later date. Our drummer, Franco Sesa, has been diagnosed with an acute otitis media (an inflammation of the middle ear) which has affected the inner ear and severely impairs his sense of balance, among other serious symptoms. The inflammation first became evident when we traveled to Finland to perform our most recent show. Franco's condition deteriorated rapidly during the flight, and he subsequently checked himself into Oulu's hospital shortly before midnight. It was only due to luck and the abbreviated festival live set that he was able to perform with us the next night. Upon Franco's return to Zurich, he immediately reported for medical treatment.

We are extremely sorry to now have to announce that his condition has unfortunately not improved as quickly as hoped and predicted, and Franco was thus declared unfit to travel and perform by his doctor this afternoon.

We are of course aware that no words can make up for cancelled concerts, especially such highly anticipated ones. But we wish to express our sincere apologies to all of those who had intended to come to our Mexican concerts on August 10 and 11, to all those Mexican fans who have written to us in anticipation these past few weeks, and to the promoter in Mexico, who worked so hard to make these concerts possible. We are still very much looking forward to come to Mexico under better circumstances in the near future to make up for the disappointment that this situation is causing.

Tom Gabriel Fischer, August 7, 2007

July 2, 2007 - NEWS RELEASE

Celtic Frost will conclude their epic journey in support of the band's "Monotheist" album with two co-headline concerts in Mexico. The "Monotheist" tour began in Switzerland on May 29, 2006, and Celtic Frost will play the final two concerts of the tour at Circo Volador in Mexico City on August 10, 2007, and Cafe Iguana in Monterrey on August 11, 2007. The co-headliner for both shows will be Amon Amarth. These concerts will be Celtic Frost's first ever in Mexico, signifying the fulfillment of a long-held ambition. Celtic Frost are very proud to finally play for the band's Mexican fans, many of whom have already come to Celtic Frost shows all over the world.

Celtic Frost have just returned to Europe from playing their first concerts in Australia, and the band has now begun appearing at a number of Europe's summer festivals. As is the case with Mexico, playing live for Australian audiences has been an ambition ever since Celtic Frost released their first few albums, and Celtic Frost feel grateful and proud about the extremely favorable reactions by both fans and media down under.

May 28, 2007 - NEWS RELEASE

As we are preparing to write the last chapter of the "Monotheist" tour by playing our first ever concerts in Australia and appearing yet again at various festivals across Europe this summer, it is time to reflect on the events of the past months.

Celtic Frost's most recent show, on May 20, 2007, in Athens, Greece, was the 115th concert of the "Monotheist" tour. Since May 29, 2006, the date of Celtic Frost's first concert in 16 years, we played Europe's most significant metal festivals and then crossed the Atlantic to perform 46 shows in the US and Canada, making this the most extensive tour of North America in Celtic Frost's history.

This was followed, in January 2007, by our first concerts in Japan and, in March and April, by our most comprehensive tour of Europe so far. We then returned to the United States for a further 25 concerts in April and May, this time as special guests to Type O Negative, taking the total number of concerts played by Celtic Frost in North America since September of last year to 71. Celtic Frost then returned to Europe to play two further concerts in Greece.

The reactions we encountered during almost all of these shows were overwhelmingly positive. There were a great many concerts which can only be described as truly magic. We owe our audiences immense gratitude, for it is them who have made this huge undertaking, and, indeed, the return of Celtic Frost, possible in the first place. We feel deeply honored to find ourselves in their circle. Much gratitude and respect are also due to Type O Negative and their crew for both their friendship and the amazingly generous treatment extended to us.

The Frost bows to all of you.

March 26, 2007 - NEW CONCERT DATES ADDED TO "MONOTHEIST" TOUR

We are very proud to announce Celtic Frost's first concerts ever in Australia, on June 13, 2007, in Sydney, and on June 14, 2007, in Melbourne. As was the case with Japan, performing in Australia was something we merely dreamt of when playing in Hellhammer, so it seems to be a fitting end to the "Monotheist" tour to be playing these shows in Australia alongside this summer's festival appearances (Mystic Festival in Poland, June 5; Graspop Festival, Belgium, June 22; Qstock Festival, Finland, July 28).

Silver Heptagram PendantWe are proud to announce an exclusive limited edition Celtic Frost collector's silver heptagram pendant through Celtic Frost's "Europe & Worldwide" webstore.

The heptagram pendant is based on the original 1986 version of the "Morbid Tales" heptagram. The pendant is made from silver, weighs approximately 70 grams (2.2 oz.), and measures approximately 95 mm by 70 mm (3.7" by 2.8"). The master cast for this unique and substantial piece of jewelry was crafted by Eli Livingston, sculptor with the New York workshop producing H.R. Giger's jewelry, where each heptagram is also being manufactured, polished, and finished by hand.

We are very grateful to H.R. Giger's agent, Les Barany, whose facilitation and support made the production of the heptagram pendant possible.

March 14, 2007 - UK SET DURATION

Statement from Celtic Frost regarding UK Set Duration:

While already on the road on the European leg of the "Monotheist" tour, we were informed of strict curfews to our co-headlining shows with Kreator in the UK. These curfews have been imposed locally and are not a stipulation by either Celtic Frost or Kreator. As a matter of fact, we oppose these curfews explicitly, and we have informed both our management and our concert agency accordingly. There is little we can do, however.

Celtic Frost and Kreator and the bands' representatives have spent months trying to assemble an appropriate and exciting touring package of four bands that cover a wide variety of contemporary metal. We loathe the fact that we are now finally back out on the road - in Celtic Frost's case, for the first time in some 17 years - and have to discover that the local booker and promoters in the UK impose curfews so unrealistically strict that it is impossible to put on the regular performances by all four bands on the bill as played everywhere else in Europe. Apparently, some of the UK venues book two events during certain nights, i.e., in this case our tour and another event. This will yield twice the profits for them in one night, but it also means that the first event, namely our tour, will have to clear the venue at an unreasonably early hour, as early as 9:30 or 10:00pm.

There appears to be no proper solution to this situation. Both headliners are categorically unwilling to cancel the performances of either our opening act or special guest, Watain and Legion of the Damned, in order to play full headlining sets. Just like us, Watain and Legion of the Damned have travelled thousands of miles and gone through great expenses to play all of Europe. The local booker and promoters in the UK are equally unwilling to extend their ludicrous curfews, even for a mere 30 minutes. The alternative, so we are informed, would be a cancelled concert.

Having all four bands play at least a semblance of a set means that the duration of all sets will be severely restricted. In case of Celtic Frost and Kreator, this means sets of 60 minutes, in case of Watain and Legion of the Damned, sets of 20 minutes. This applies to the following shows: Glasgow, Bradford, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, and Nottingham. All bands involved believe that playing a set is better than cancelling any show. That we all are extremely frustrated, if not to say furious, about this situation is obvious.

March 9, 2007 - CELTIC FROST PRESS RELEASE

Martin Eric Ain and Mille Petrozza, 2007 After celebrating a triumphant European tour start in Cologne (Germany) on March 8, 2007, with new touring guitarist, V Santura of German black metal group Dark Fortress, Celtic Frost deliver an update on their live activities subsequent to their European shows.

The group has been invited to play the special guest slot on the forthcoming Type O Negative US headliner tour in April and May 2007.

Due to the current co-headliner tour with Kreator in Europe which will conclude on April 5, 2007, in Hamburg, Celtic Frost will be unable to play Type O Negative's initial concerts. Immediately after the final show of the European tour, however, the group will fly to the United States to join Type O Negative for the first time on April 9, 2007, in Chicago and remain with the tour until its conclusion on May 9, 2007, in New York City.

As previously reported, Celtic Frost will be able to play a limited-duration special guest set of 45 minutes duration. The band believes that this presents an important opportunity to play for US audiences again and expand upon the foundation built in the course of last fall's successful 46-date tour of North America.

March 4, 2007 - NEW TOURING GUITARIST ANNOUNCED

On the eve before embarking on the European leg of the "Monotheist" tour and then returning to the United States, Celtic Frost announce the band's new touring guitarist, V Santura of German black metal group Dark Fortress.

Also, Celtic Frost singer and guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer has entered an exclusive endorsement agreement with Ibanez, the company whose guitars he has been playing in the studio and on stage since the earliest Hellhammer days in 1982.

Celtic Frost further announce the availability of exclusive Celtic Frost worker shirts through Celtic Frost's "Europe & Worldwide" webstore.

March 2, 2007 - "MONOTHEIST" ELECTED 2006 ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Celtic Frost's much acclaimed "Monotheist" album, the band's first in 14 years, has been elected "album of the year" for 2006 by Terrorizer magazine in the UK and Hard n Heavy magazine in France.

February 21, 2007 - CELTIC FROST RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA

Celtic Frost are proud to announce their return to North America in spring 2007. The group has been invited to play the special guest slot on the forthcoming Type O Negative tour in April and May 2007.

Due to the preceding co-headliner tour with Kreator in Europe which will conclude on April 5, 2007, in Hamburg, Celtic Frost will not be able to play all dates with Type O Negative. Immediately after the final show of the European tour, however, the group will fly to the United States to join Type O Negative for the first time on April 9, 2007, in Chicago and remain with the tour until its conclusion on May 8, 2007, in Baltimore, MD.

Celtic Frost will be able to play a limited-duration special guest set of 45 minutes duration. In spite of the limited playing time, the band believes that this presents an important opportunity to play for the US audiences again and expand upon the foundation built in the course of last fall's successful 46-date tour of North America.

A full North American tour schedule will available soon in the "Itinerary" section.

January 10, 2007 - SUPPORT ACTS FOR EUROPEAN TOUR ANNOUNCED

Personally picked by both bands, Dutch thrashers Legion Of The Damned will be taking over the special guest slot until March 29th, and Swedish black metal act Watain will be opening this fantastic touring package until then. Afterwards Watain will climb to the special guest position.

Celtic Frost and Kreator are proud to offer the audience a lesson in the history of extreme music.
