November 19, 2008 - WARRIOR TALKS TO GIGER:

'Zero Tolerance' 026

Zero Tolerance Press Release:

"In a rare cover-feature interview, Tom Gabriel Warrior, once of Celtic Frost and now heading Triptykon, speaks to Swiss surrealist visual artist HR Giger for Issue 026 of the UK's 'Zero Tolerance' magazine. The interview, conducted by Warrior over two sessions at Giger's Zurich home, is an intimate and revealing look at the artist's life and work, which has included Oscar-winning designs for the film 'Alien', not to mention numerous paintings and sculptures, many of which have graced album covers such as Celtic Frost's 'To Mega Therion' and 'Heartwork' by Carcass. During the interview, Giger reveals to Warrior just how he feels about the use of his art on album covers, and much more.

"Warrior's interview with Giger is the inaugural feature in the first of an all-encompassing two-part special on the relationship between extreme music and visual art. Among those sharing their thoughts on Giger and beyond are Jello Biafra, Cradle Of Filth, Darkthrone, and Satyricon.

"The interview is illustrated with exclusive photos of HR Giger and Tom Gabriel Warrior, taken at Giger's home by Doralba Picerno."

More information can be found at Zero Tolerance Magazine.

November 14, 2008 - "CELTIC FROST - A DYING GOD" DOCUMENTARY FILM:

This Sunday, November 16, 2008, at 11:30 pm, Swiss national TV station SF1 will premiere the first full-length documentary film shot about celebrated and controversial Swiss extreme metal group Celtic Frost. Click on the video below for a preview trailer:

"Celtic Frost - A Dying God" was directed by Swiss journalist and documentary filmmaker Adrian Winkler, whose team followed Celtic Frost for two years on the road during the group's final undertaking, the "Monotheist" Tour, in 2006 and 2007. Winkler captured Celtic Frost across Europe, Japan, and the United States, as well as at the Wacken and Hole In The Sky festivals. In addition, the documentary features dedicated interviews with the group's members. Winkler: "The film documents Celtic Frost attempting to do justice to their own legendary reputation. It is an emotional journey, capturing, among other things, the band members facing their own, dark past."

SF1 will re-broadcast the documentary on November 23, 2008, at 5:30 am.

June 16, 2008 - MARTIN ERIC AIN & FRANCO SESA STATEMENT IN REGARD OF CELTIC FROST

We are deeply sorry about the cancellation of the summer festivals and the Giger Museum Anniversary Show this year. We regret the adversity that this caused fans and promoters alike.

Tom Gabriel Fischer has left the Band, but Celtic Frost is still alive, albeit in a coma of sorts. Franco and I are not going to continue recording or touring as Celtic Frost. This would be preposterous without one of its founding members, the original voice and its defining guitarist. But we are not going to officially disband CF.

We hope that there might be a possibility of talking things over and overcoming the differences that caused this schism. Most certainly this will not happen now, but maybe sometime in the future. After all, this is not the first time in the history of this band that things have gone wrong.

In the meantime, Franco and I will continue to create music of our own. Under what name or with whom else shall remain open for now.

For the time being, we accept Tomís decision as being better for all of us and we would like to wish all the best for him and his future projects.

A thank you is due to all fans and friends for their support in these difficult times. We hope that at least the work of these past years was as pleasurable to you as it was to us.

With regret and confidence,
Martin Eric Ain & Franco Sesa

April 9, 2008 - TOM GABRIEL FISCHER LEAVES CELTIC FROST

Celtic Frost singer and guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer has left Celtic Frost due to the irresolvable, severe erosion of the personal basis so urgently required to collaborate within a band so unique, volatile, and ambitious.

April 4, 2008 - THE VISUAL ART OF TOM GABRIEL FISCHER NOW AVAILABLE

Alternatively subject to passionate controversy or revered as one of the most influential and revolutionary musicians of the past two decades, Hellhammer and Celtic Frost singer/guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer's creative and intriguingly enigmatic mind has helped shape the face of modern extreme metal. But Fischer's imagination has never been limited solely to music: starting as early as 1983, he began to create the underground art which, for example, would subsequently grace Hellhammer's legendary "Triumph of Death" demo, "Apocalyptic Raids" EP, or "Demon Entrails" album. Moreover, throughout Celtic Frost's existence, Fischer has been closely involved with all aspects of the band's art direction and visual presentation.

For the very first time, Fischer's art outside of music is now commercially available directly from the artist himself. The website

http://selfdeceased.blogspot.com/

features the first 10 of Fischer's continuing series of life-size death masks of himself as well as limited edition signed prints of some of his most dramatic drawings.

Fischer casts each death mask individually by hand from a mold of his face made in New York by Josh Turi (special makeup effects artist), Tom Denier, Jr. (special makeup effects artist), and Eli Livingston (sculptor for, among others, HR Giger). The death masks are cast from concrete and then primed and painted by Fischer using oil, enamel, or acrylic paints. The finished death masks are mounted on anodized black aluminum frames and labeled, numbered, and signed by the artist. No two death masks are thus ever the same, each death mask is a unique and lasting piece of art.

Similarly, the limited edition, large-format prints of Fischer's drawings are also signed and numbered by the artist.

Both lines of death masks and drawings are to be expanded in the future. Be sure to check for updates frequently.

March 31 2008 - NEW LOCATION FOR "DELINEATION II"

Please note that Tom Gabriel Fischer's vastly popular "Delineation II" blog has changed its location on the web, effective immediately:

Style, content, and frequency of the blog and its posts will of course remain unaffected.

March 20, 2008 - TOM GABRIEL FISCHER TO BE PART OF THE INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL CONFERENCE

On Friday, March 21, 2008, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost singer and guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer will be part of the Inferno Metal Festival Conference at the Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway. Along with Gaahl of Gorgoroth and Maniac of Skitliv, Fischer will be on the panel in a discussion on the topic:

Can metal become more extreme? Taboos and metal ? where do we go from here?

"15 years after the climax of Norwegian black metal murders and church arson, it is time to look ahead. Is there a limit to what record labels and those interacting in the music business can work with? What is the next extreme thing to happen?"
(official festival conference text)

The discussion is scheduled to begin at 2 pm; it will be hosted by Michael Berberian of Seasons Of Mist. For further information, please refer to:

January 8, 2008 - "DEMON ENTRAILS" DETAILS REVEALED; EUROPEAN RELEASE DATE FEBRUARY 18, 2008

With the release of "Demon Entrails" on February 18, 2008 the days of numerous sub-standard bootlegs of the classic Hellhammer demos "Death Fiend", "Triumph of Death" and "Satanic Rites" are finally over! Currently also working on a book dealing with the history of Hellhammer, founder Tom Gabriel Fischer points out the importance of this release:

"The release of these demos is very significant to both Martin Eric Ain and me. No matter how one looks at Hellhammer, this was our first recorded music so many years ago, and it represents the radicalness of our own lives at the time. These demos became the foundation to everything we later created in Celtic Frost. Hell reigned on earth."
