Tom Gabriel Warrior: “In May of 1984, in the course of Hellhammer’s final month of existence, I at last found the guitar sound I had subconsciously been looking for. I had acquired a Marshall JCM 800 100 Watt stack a good year earlier and then began searching at length for a certain tone and heaviness. It imaged it to be aggressive and dark, but at the same time to retain massive sustain and a certain warmth. It took all kinds of trial and error to find it. This is the guitar sound I have used ever since, for all of Celtic Frost’s classic releases and each of Triptykon’s recordings, and during any and all concerts we play. Some time ago, Jessup Amps contacted me with the intention to faithfully capture the essence of that sound. I am delighted and proud to report that the result is the new, limited edition Tom Gabriel Warrior Morbid Tube Distortion Pedal, available in both a standard guitar pedal edition and, in honour of Hellhammer’s unruly spirit, a limited die-hard edition that cannot be switched off.”
