I've actually placed myself in cryogenic suspension, pending its arrival.

It better come soon, that's all I can say; this damn liquid helium cryostasis generator is sending the electricity bill through the roof.

The second part of the Requiem would be a nice surprise (to say the very least!) if it was included...
I mean, Brian Wilson finished SMiLE and performed it, so one can at least hope, right? Wink

Tom's indicated that the third album won't happen until they find a new drummer.

I guess whatever the situation was with Reed St. Mark at the beginning of Triptykon, hasn't changed to make his membership likely?

Every line-up change in a band is always sad and detrimental.

But as far as line-up changes go, one cannot have a more friendly and constructive change than the one Triptykon is currently experiencing. There are no conflicts whatsoever, we are parting as friends, and Norman is playing with us until we have settled on a replacement. We are even consulting him regarding potential candidates.

It does make sense, however, to work on the new album with the new drummer.

Absolutely no doubt about this friendly split.

As a fan, the situation seems more frank like this. I've never enjoyed to see the name of a ex-band member after a recording be indicated as a session musician , à la Mikkey Dee for Conspiracy or Vinnie Appice for Live Evil .Even worse with the case of Tommy Aldridge/Lee Kerslake for Diary of a Madman.
The timing is so preferable in that way: new drummer, new album.
... even if I regret the departure of Mr Lonhard, I am confident about the future announcement of the new drummer .
I secretly hope for Marky "Marquis" Edelmann but I'm not sure about his motivation for playing .
Anyway , c'est la vie .

Honestly, a 9-year run with the same lineup, through two full-length records and multiple tours and festivals, is an achievement in itself. That's a whole lot of stability in rock'n'roll.

It's always nice to know that a split is done in a positive way with no negative or hurt feelings. I'm excited for the new album and looking forward to hearing the percussion work of any potential new drummer, and to see their possible influence on the band, however big or small it may be.

Just wondering: Reed is not an option, is he?
