I have skipped a bit through the album since I have a lot of work to do, and the sooner I have done this, I can listen to the album in it's entirity. The music of promo 3 is indeed 'Goetia' and what I have heard of it, nobody exaggerated. It is indeed that good that it should start all Triptykon concerts. Another song I skipped through was 'The Prolonging', and my very first impression is that I have to hear it in it's enterity. 'My Pain' is a very ambient track with female vocals and keyboards, nothing like the rest I have heard. And for Deni there is good news: 'Relinquished Body' is indeed included on the album, only now it's called 'Myopic Empire'. I haven't heard the other songs, but it's promising to say the least. I will check back tonight after I heard the album in full.

Take your time, El. I'll be out of town this weekend and away from the board. It *is* all about me, isn't it?

I am very curious about the clip from the second video teaser.

There is no physical promo, everything comes from a download i-pool. By the way Knucklehead, you are wrong about the 'Shrine' fragment. That was 'In Shrouds Decayed'. That song really left me with my mouth wide open...
The overall impression is that 'Eparistera Daimones' is A LOT darker than 'Monotheist', and yeah: tragic vocals have returned. It's also over the entire album much slower, heavier, much more complicated arrangements than on 'Monotheist', indeed a big step forward from there.
There is already spoken about the technical superiority of Norman Lonhard over TCD, but I want also to say something about Vanja Slahj as the 'replacement' for Martin: she does a SUPERB job. He is not missed one second, indeed, it sounds like Celtic Frost on the last album, but it has more depth, more atmosphere, more emotion. Compared to 'Eparistera Daimones' it's almost as if 'Monotheist' is 'overproduced'. It lacks the rawness that this album pours out over you.
And Norman compared to Reed... I guess that technically there is no difference. Maybe Norman is even better.

But I gotta go, I got some rebuilding waiting for me. I check back later.

How is that even possible?

Hey El, thanks a lot for the update!
I'm really glad to know "Relinquished Body", now "Myopic Empire", is included on the album!

I don't wanna listen no download of the album. I have ordered my copy and I'll wait to listen it. This way I think the impact would be bigger.

The album also is available on CD Universe for pre-orders.

When you get to the end of 'Descendant', you almost think you are listening to 'Morbid Tales'. On the other hand, if you think that the entire album is more into the really heavy stuff, 'My Pain' is the ambient track. I haven't heard the full impact yet, the subtleties that made 'Monotheist' what it is. One track I find hard to digest is 'The Prolonging', because of it's length but also because of it's sound. It sounds like guitars lowered through a wah-pedal or something, if you think they are tuned low, this is much lower, it sounds more like a rumble from the Earth than a guitar. Later in the composition they speed things up a little (compared to the opening riff), but still it's a difficult song to listen to.
I hope to find some time to listen to the album today, as we are still working on the upper floor and hope to finish it this weekend. Finally slept in my own room last night, so that felt 'at home' a little bit. I only need curtains... And more Triptykon.

This is going to be a difficult review to write...

Knucklehead: 'Shrine' is the background music on the first trailer.
When I was listening to it, I got the envisioning of the Giger-artwork in the background, and it suits the art of Giger perfectly.

I fear that writing a review based only on the music is selling 'Eparistera Daimones' short, I guess it's a gesamtkunstwerk in which visual art, lyrics and music form an artwork on it's own.

I have listened the promo twice and I can say already now that I like this album better than Monotheist (as a whole). All the influences and elements are in perfect balance and I could describe the overall feeling as "enlightened". It's dark, heavy and very dynamic record. Dark metal, post metal, thrashy metal and mesmerizing ambient passages, all in perfect balance.

Prolonging seems to be my favourite. The guitars are partly VERY dropped and heavy. Dunno how down they tuned the lowest string, but it's a very down tuned guitar string, not an effect.

My first impression was that Myopic Empire would be the weak link on the album, but after the second listen it seems to start to fit in with the rest of the material.

Triptykon is equally as good as Celtic Frost. It's a fact, not just a fanboy statement. Can't wait to see them live.

No Crucifixus.
